What is the point system for drivers license holders in Florida?
Answer: Florida has a point system that, after you just pay a ticket and don’t either have a hearing or attempt to keep the points off through a traffic school election, the Florida legislature has said that 12 points in 12 months causes a 30-day suspension of your license; 18 points in 18 months causes a 90-day suspension; and then 24 points in 36 months causes a one-year suspension. So if you just pay a ticket and don’t make an attempt to try and keep the points off your license, you’ll typically end up with either three or four points for that violation. As you accumulate more points, then you run into these suspension issues.
