Answer: Well, it’s definitely not illegal in the state of Florida, because it’s not texting. It could be somewhat distracting, so you have to be very careful. Obviously you want to keep your attention on the roadway so that you don’t cause an accident. But, you know, the smart thing would be if you use the Waze app to maybe have a front windshield suction cup, or maybe something that comes out of one of the vents, have a holder there so that you’re not distracted, having to look down at the phone to do updates or to read things that might be going on up ahead. So, no, it’s not illegal, but as a matter of just good driving, you probably want to secure that phone so that would cut down on—we don’t want distracted drivers getting into accidents.
