What are the penalties for a DUI under 21 in Florida?
Answer: There’s no difference in the penalties for a driving under the influence if you’re under the age of 21; the penalties are the same. The only difference is if you’re under the age of 21 and you blow over a .02 but under a .05, there is a six-month license suspension. If you blow from a .05 and above there’s a one-year license suspension. Oftentimes, the police will give a portable breath test to those under the age of 21 and not do a DUI investigation. They simply suspend the license if there’s any alcohol over a .02 in their system.
